Shirt Signing - All help welcome!

Hey! I'm planning to buy the old England kit, (The one worn in the World Cup - South Africa) as it's only a £10.
I've never used a football shirt as signing material before, so I might need some suggestions.
I'm planning to get the shirt signed IP, by as many England players as possible.
Is there anything I should or shouldn't do?
What size should I buy? I want to frame it after woods and am not planning on wearing it (Obviously)
How would I best preserve it? As it is a white top, and white things are notorious for getting dirty...
And also, should I get a name and number on the back? I'm guessing not, as I'm getting multiple people to sign it, but if it increases the value then I'm happy to do it.

Anything else, that you'd suggest I do?

No name or # for team items. Get the white and use a Blue Sharpie to get it signed. Find a nice sturdy piece of cardboard, cut it in the shape of the shirt, just a little bigger, about 2 inches on all sides. Then place the shirt on the cardboard; basically dress the cardboard; LOL. Now you have a firm surface for the players to sign, and the fabric will be slightly stretched so you can get a nice even signature. This is the best way to do it, especially if at a game where lots of ppl are. You can't just hand the player a shirt; it will get signed, but it might be uspide down or sideways, spotty, and 9 out of 10 times something you won't be happy with.

Going through the trouble with the cardboard might seem like a pain, but you will be much happier when you see the finished product.

P.S. don't worry about value. Collect for the love of the hobbby; not the potential profit.

If its in person get the size u wear and have it on. I have some Indianapolis Colts jerseys signed from training camp and I wore them. For team items I got the best player (Peyton Manning) and had the team sign that one. I had them sign the back and it worked out pretty good. I do have a few undershirts that were slightly signed from the bleed through lol.

Cheers guys! got the shirt, and am cutting out cardboard now, as that's a grand idea, going Tesco in a couple of day, and will buy a blue sharpie!

Might try the wearing idea too, but possibly the signature won't come off too good?
