Charging a fee vs in person autographs

Unread post by iao »

I have been wondering, maybe you can share actual experiences of this. For actors/entertainers etc. that 'charge a fee' thru their site or whatever. What happens if you see them in the supermarket or store and ask them for an autograph, do they refuse, ask you for money on the spot or ignore the requestor?
This may seem like a silly question but what would make that any different that sending your own item to be signed and including the return envelope and postage.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Thank you for kind remarks.

The truth is if you actually run into the person they will probably sign for free even if they normally only sell their autograph and the reason i think most would is because first off you caught them off guard and they wouldnt know what to say or want to look like jerks in front of a bunch of people by saying no and also its diff when a person is standing in front of you asking for your autograph because its personal. This only applies to not so famous stars who dont get swamped and can still go out shopping but then again those are usually the ones selling their autographs because they arent super famous and often dont have alot of money.
