How often do you send THANK YOU notes?

Hi All,
I send a Thank You note once in a while, if a celeb either signs fast, is someone I really admire, or if they write a nice note or something...
Is this common practice? I know if you send a LOT of TTMs it would be hard to do that, but I only send a few a week...

For me its common practice.
Thats one of the reasons why I have built relationships with so many I admire.
I also include my cell & email and believe it or not, I have gotten many calls and emails
First call that ever came to me unexpectedly was from 80s Pop Star SHEILA E.
I will never forget that day. It was about 2 years ago and guess what? Today we are friends

I've started to include my e-mail and sometimes phone #.

What do you say? Whatever comes to mind.
Just dont sound like an obsessed fan or they will hang up very fast.

No not common practice. Its hard enough to get celebs to open their letters and sign ttm to send even more mail to them. I thank them in advance for answering my letter and signing my photo.

I've sent thank you notes twice. The first was to an actor who sent me 5 signed photos in addition to the 3 I sent to be signed, and the second was to an actress who adored, who took the time to hand write me a note.

i sent a thank card and a xmas card to kristen stweart. i just told her it meant a lot to me that she singed my photo and to have a good xmas.

I do it for various reasons, mainly:
tough signers
ones who send extra autographed photos as well as sign mine
ones who include a personal letter to me
I personally think it might be nice for them to get mail that is nit a request and also tells them how happy it made you & how much you appreciate it. I bet something like a thank you card would get passed on to them as well.
As like most people I always thank them in my original letter for taking the time to read and thank them in advance for possibly being able to sign.

I also thank them in advance, but sometimes I did send a "Thank You"-card.
eg. to Eli Wallach as I got a really nice and fast success! Melissa Peterman, Susan Sarandon, Isabelle Fuhrman & Justin Berfield (it was actually a birthday card), Paul Brightwell.
That's it I think.

I do send thank you notes for people that have gone above and beyond on signing. Some have sent me other items that were special and deserved thanks.
