Autographs make great gifts: best received

from my wife, both obtained at a convention: Sir Alec Guiness and Bruce Boa (as he also put his phone number with the autograph - apparently much to the distress of his PA!). Sir A was an auction piece, BB was in person.

And once when I asked a Swans player to sign a card for me, he GAVE me a pair of Tony Lockett's match worn boots (signed) - the greatest Aussie football goal kicker of all time!

My best autograph I received was from Norman Bridwell-author and illustrator of the Clifford books. He typed and signed a letter for me, signed my bookplate, signed my book TWICE, AND drew in a Clifford sketch. I was absolutely STUNNED!

Best gifted was probably a signed book from Poppy Brite that my friend went to an event to get inscribed for me personally. :)

I only got signed items when I was a kid. I got signed Frank Thomas and Chipper Jones baseballs for my birthday two yrs in a row. Those are the only signed items I ever recieved.
