I have no idea but it adds up over time with the photo paper, ink, envelopes(I only use rigid ones which cost more to buy and ship)and of course all the postage.I would estimate i have probably spent a thousand or more dollars at least over the past 2 years but i really don't know and i have got back hundreds of autographs even though i have not got back alot too so in the end i am ok with spending the money.I don't send out as much as i used to now though i am more picky now because i don't want to waste money and time.

Every request I sent cost between $5.50 and $8.00 USD. so since I have sent over 300 request this way you make the math.
This is not a cheap hobby, but I really enjoy it. I used to collect toys, I have over $10,000 worth of them still in boxes, but is a collection I can not share with others, most of my toys I havent seen in years. Autographs are easy to share.

Holy Moley!!

You spend between $5.00 - $8.00 USD per request?? What all do you send in each one? I can send a letter, SASE, up to four photos (4x6) and only pay about $2.00.

Do you add insurance/delivery confirmation to yours?
I don't even want to know how much I've spent over the past 11 years, but it's a lot. mostly funded by pop bottle money from collecting those from off the road and recycling them.

I don't know how much I've spent, shudder to think about it.
I can see spending $5-8 on a single request though, and I've probably done it a few times on certain requests. A single 8x10 would cost about $3 (then there's shipping since I get them from online printers), a mailer would cost $1, and postage each way would be $1.50.

I allow about £20 (about US$30 the last time I looked) a month for photos and stamps, and send between 10 and 15 a month on that, depending on the size of the photos, how many are via our local theatre which I cycle past on the way to work and can drop through the letterbox at the stage door without having to pay for postage to get them there, and how many unfranked stamps come my way.

I also spend between 5 and 6 dollars per request because shipping in canada is $2.00 one way and $1.25 for the return and i use the rigid mailers for better protection and the cost of the photo paper and ink (you cant forget the ink costs) so it costs me at least $5.00 each.

Wow, That's crazy!

But I see what you mean since you live in Canada. I have all my photos printed at a store, so in the long run I'm saving money since it's not that expensive to have them printed professionally vs. printing at home. plus the professional ones last much longer based on the types of ink they use.

Ha. I've been collecting for over 12 years now. I really don't want to know. I'm sure it's added up to be somewhere in the thousands.

Yeah its just i like the freedom of being able to print my own pictures fast and at home when needed because i do alot of vv requests and sometimes i need to get them out fast and dont want to deal with stores. As far as the professional ones lasting longer in most cases i dont think thats true because you can get high quality photos printed but most stores do it the cheapest way possible to make more money and charge less and the photo paper and ink i use guarantees the photos will last at least 100 years so i doubt we will be around to see what lasts longer lol

I know you can buy cheap inks and paper and it probably wont last long but i buy quality inks and paper.
