My Guide: How to ask for personalization.

Unread post by GazzaPaul »

On my time on this site (Albeit, not very long) I've seen that many people are scared to ask for personalization because it might sound 'cheeky' or 'rude', I always ask for personalization, and they always seem happy to do it for you, this is how I ask for personalization:

Firstly, I always write about a page for my letters, I've even wrote 8 once (Probably a waste of time, as most don't read past page 1) this makes me feel like i've put allot of effort in, and hopefully the said celebrity will think the same, and sign it, personalized to you (If you ask for it)

Now, how to word it:

Most celebrities know about Ebay users who get autographs TTM and sell them on Ebay as in-person autographs, so use this to your advantage! I say, "Could you personalized them to me;Paul? That would make them even more special, and then you'd know I'm not going to sell them on Ebay, and means I can treasure them forever!

Some celebrities send 'pre-signed' autographs, which basically means that they sign, say, a thousand autographs prior, and then some sectary sends them back to people requesting them, means they're real, but also means that they won't be personalized. So if you ask nicely for a personalized autograph, and they don't give you one, it doesn't necessarily mean they think you were rude, just they don't have the time.

Just remember, 98% of celebrities will WANT to sign it to you, personally, because they know what's going on with Ebay sellers, and they'd want to cut it down as much as possible

Good luck, and personalized autographs are 10x better!

I don't remember seeing people on here saying they are nervous asking for personalisations, but may have just filtered those comments out as I was reading. I would have thought that having bitten the bullet to write the letter most of us would have got into our stride by that bit.

The only thing I would add is to look at examples of signatures and dedications on here and figure out whether in your opinion the person you're writing to is doing the whole thing. I don't think there's anything special about a secretarial dedication.

Hey, yeah, although not quite related to TTM Personalization queries, this is the only one I could find. On page two, I do remember 3-4 people asking about this.

A. Most celebs don't read the letters you send them. B. If you want something personalized, just put a post it note on it. Simplified, and easy enough.
