Is it possible to get mail back from others i have written without a postmark? Over the years i have sent out many requests and some have come back with autographs but on the return envelope there was no postmark on it. Can they go through the USPS without getting a postmark? Didn't know if that has happened to others or just a fluke here and here. Thanks.

Yes they can!! Not sure why, but it happens. I work for the USPS, So I could probably ask around.

They may use an invisible postmark too and if people try to use the stamps over again it may recognize it???

More often than not they come back to me without the stamps being voided. I'm not sure about the legality of re-using them and I will exercise my fifth amendment right not to incriminate myself.

Thanks for the replies. Thats good to hear. Just wanted to be sure that what i got was actual autographs and not some wise cracker postal worker signing my items and then dropping them off back in my mailbox. I doubt that but in this day, anything is possible anymore.

Ditto on all accounts above! I have heard of someone that gets a lot of mail from work (nothing to do with autographs) and just cuts out the unmarked stamp and sticks it to their next letter (doesn't even remove the old envelope!).
Also, I have heard of people strategically placing their SASE stamps below where the machine would post-mark it so it comes back un-marked.
I'm sure Trilobite does not do this! ;)

Coincidentally enough, I got back a success today with no postmark, no barcode sticker, no canceled stamps, nothing.
