Question about UK stamps.

I've got a question to anyone from the UK that has experience in sending things from the UK to the USA.

I'm going to be starting a folded poster project soon, and I need to buy UK stamps. The envelope is going to be a 9x12. I think the site said it's going to cost £2.07 which I think is something like $3.38.

What kind of stamps should I get though? Should I put two of the £1.10 stamps on it? And where do I get the airmail stickers?

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I really would appreciate any help I can get though.

2x £1.10 stamps will be fine, and you don't have to have Airmail stickers, just write AIRMAIL where you would normally put a sticker :)

I would recommend using 2 x 1st class large letter stamps and a 2nd class large letter stamp, which adds up to £2.08, but will also hold their value if the stamps go up again between your sending it and the envelope coming back. It won't even get out of the country if there aren't enough stamps on (I know, I've had a couple come back which I've miscalculated the postage on).

The same combination of stamps worked before the recent price increases, so could reasonably be expected to do the same again next time. The small and large letter 1st and 2nd class stamps hold their value the way that US Forever Stamps do, so if you have a choice it is worth getting hold of those if you can.
