does anyone know if the Hobbit is still filming in New Zealand???

I think it has ended. I'm not sure so I could be wrong, but it started last spring so it would be a HUGE shoot if it was still going on.

The Hobbit ended filming on December 31st 2011.

Your info is wrong guys. The Hobbit is still filming until June or July. Luke Evans is one of the actors cast and he said he will be filming until the middle of 2012.

Just be aware that some of the cast has finished filming. So it really depends on who you want to write to.

Do you think it would be alright to write to Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Aidan Turner??

Cate Blanchett seems to have finished filming. Requests for her have been coming back RTS from The Hobbit address since September. Andy Serkis is the second unit director. My guess is that he should be there until they wrap in summer.
