Hey everyone! I was wondering how much (money) you usually spend per week/month/year collecting autographs?

I know it depends on where you live... I'm just a starter, but I think I spent way too much on stamps... X-) On the other hand I've received so many unique successes. That's when I tell myself it was all worth it

Haha, If I knew how much I spent on this hobby, I'd probably have to quit. Over the years, I've learned tips and tricks that have helped me reduce the cost of postage on my requests and have taken up several other part-time jobs. I collect pop bottles and cans and return them for cash, which I can use to buy stamps and supplies.

Probably more then I should lol. Like Ryan said, I've picked up some tricks to saving money on postage, photos, and envelopes. I've always liked collecting rare and unique items (you outta see my room, it's almost like a mini museum lol), which is why I got into autograph collecting: because they are rare and unique! To help pay for all this, I've started my own mini eBay business of flipping items. If I see a really good deal on something, I'll buy it then resell it for more. I've made hundreds of dollars flipping items, and it provides all the money I need for collecting both autographs and other rare items!

I probably spent about $20 Saturday printing out a few photos, and getting envelopes, different color writing pads and silver Sharpies.

If I wrote as much as I used to I might have to take a break again.

with that past 2 months that ive really been into this.. ive spent about $150 on stamps .. about $80 on ink.. which sometime this week i will have to go buy new black ink as im running out.. and about $50 in envelops.

i started in December 2011.
and with the stamps i've spent till now i think 25 euro
and photo's i think about 20 euro
and envelopes around 10 euro
i know it isn't much, but i haven't sent many things, but i have a lot ready to send out so that will cost also a lot!
i also try to send celebrities emails so that also doesn't cost much

I can't even think about a number! This hobby is fun and enjoying, so it's worth it! Also probably everyones collection is worth more then we spent!
