Sec dedications...

Sec dedications on authentic autographs. I don't get the point. I have one (not going to say who it's from because the person doesn't sign anymore) and I know for 100% the signature is authentic. It bleeds through the photo and the person's signature is actually quite difficult to forge. But right above the signature someone wrote my name along with XOXO. I know it's a sec because it matches the handwriting on the envelope (they didn't use my SASE). I really would be perfectly fine just getting the signed photo... it really doesn't need to have my name on it...

I agree so much, I would rather have a dedication than just an auto but definitely just an auto than a sec dedication.

They put secretarial dedications because they are afraid people are going to sell the autograph. You can't really sell a autograph for full price if it has a dedication to it. If that makes any sense.

I sent to Dick Clark a few months before he passed, and I recieved my photo authentically signed (Signature VERY shaky, after his stroke) and with a sec personalization. honestly I think Mr. Clark wanted to be able to personalize for his fans, but it was all he could do to keep up with requests just for his signature.
