I wrote Mr. Steven Spielberg on the 22nd of February (through the 'DreamWorks Animation SKG' address). I still haven't received any reply. In the meantime, however, loads of people have reported replies received approx. 20 days after they sent letters themselves.
Is there still any hope? Might I still receive a reply? I'm from Denmark. But I did include a SAE and 2 IRCs.
Should I send my letter again... or do I wait a little longer?
When should I get nervous? (and write again?)

[something incredibly clever]
Hey,
This kind of thing happened to me with Dakota Fanning. I sent mine in October, and I FINALLY got mine yesterday! Even when people were sending them a week before they got it, and i waited even longer, i figured out that they all go in a bin (or atleast at osbrink) and they go through it and sign all of them. maybe that's how it is with you. I hope this helps! *it never hurts to write again*

You have nothing to worry about darthfrede
Sometimes, celebrities may receive hundreds or thousands of fan mail from people all around the world each day. They probably compile all of this mail somewhere (e.g. a box, bag etc) until the person you have written to has time to go through it. Some celebrities may possibly choose to start answering requests at the top of the pile (those that have come in most recently) or the bottom of the pile (those that have come in first.) This is why some people who send out requests earlier than others may receive something back later as compared to those who have sent requests out later than others.
It sounds like Steven may be doing the "last in, first out" approach. He may not have gotten around to all of his mail in one go, which is why some of the more recent requests have had faster turnarounds. Your letter isn't lost darthfrede, it's probably still in the pile waiting for a response.
You'll get your response soon, it's just a matter of how busy Steven is at the present time.
Good luck!

i love that phrazing now and again."last in, first out"applies to many many celebs.I have been waiting months for particular ones when someone gets thiers back within a ridiculously small time frame. its worth the wait but is frustrating watcing everyone get thiers ahead of your own.
Latest success: Susan Sarandon vv
Latest RTS: Christopher lloyd
In Person: michael dorman, abbie cornish, joel edgerton, sam worthington, sigrid thornton (pics to come when photobucket comes back online)

As for "last in, first out" (aka LIFO) - it's actually a concept I have studied in accounting. I think the same can apply here.
Then again, there's also the concept of "first in, first out" (aka FIFO) in which other celebrities may follow

Thank you all so much for your comments. I'm a little less anxious now.
I'll wait a little longer before sending my follow-up, then
(and also a big thanks to nowandagain for the comments in this thread)
