A Press Release this morning has stated that autograph hunting is to be banned in the West End of London, signalling an end to the manic rush of collectors, dealers and fans which faces actors at the end of their shows.
The reasons given are two fold. Spokesman Mr Rolf Palio released the following statement on behalf of the Commander
'Actors are paid to act, not to sign autographs. They are becoming increasingly aggravated by the number of dealers positioning themselves at stage doors and chasing them down the street to obtain another autograph for personal financial gain. Additionally, the major stars feel that it is detrimental to the confidence of the other cast members who are ignored in the scrum, and that they feel that if they are not required to sign autographs then no one should be'
'Patrols will be in operation and anyone caught loitering outside stage doors or in the vicinity of West End venues without a ticket for the event will be removed by the police and risk a fine of up to £1000 or twenty seven days imprisonment'
