I have a solution for Julie Andrews' excuse for NOT signing photos. She claims it's illegal for her to sign photos for which she doesn't own the copyright. Ms. Andrews could use a camera with a self-timer, take a photo of herself (therefore SHE owns the copyright to it), and get the photo reproduced. She could then hand sign the photos at the request of her fans.

But of course that would solve her problem so she probably wouldn't go for it. She needs to be honest and just state that after many years of signing autographs she no longer has the time and wants to enjoy her retirement. She has no need to make false claims like she is doing.
