$1.75 - is it enough?

I just got back from the Post Office. I sent Margaret Thatcher two photos to sign. The envelope I sent her weighed 3.10 oz. and cost me $3.35. The clerk gave me an IRC for the ammount of $1.75. Is this enough? If it is not, do you think Mrs. Thatcher would be kind enough to pay the difference? The only reason I am asking is because I have had no past experience with IRC's and I do not know Mrs. Thatcher well.

$3.35?
What else was in the envelope aside from the letter, photos, and SAE?

All that was in the envelope was the SAE, an IRC (which I'm sure did not contribute to the weight of the envelope), a letter, two photos and a piece of cardboard. The cardboard wasn't anything unusual. I got it from my uncle who is a professional photographer.
I'm really surprised at the price. The reciept says:
"Great Britain and Northern Ireland - Air Letter-post 3.10 oz. "
$3.35
I sent an envelope to Tony Blair last week and that cost me $2.55. It weighed .10 less oz than the envelope to Margaret Thatcher. I think the clerk at the post office today made a mistake.

Im not sure, but I think you would need to include 2 or 3 IRCs

Thanks for your help. I did not know this because I have had no prior experience with IRC's before.
Do you think Mrs. Thatcher would be kind enough to pay for the difference? Has she done this before?

Hi CDolan02
I think you will be fine - I had one of the two successes on the forum
All Mrs Thatcher's mail goes out via the House of Commons mail room (it actually has it's own Royal Mail sorting office!!!), so it will be weighed before it is sent out.
If the postage paid is not enough it will be "topped up" by the franking machine. I would give it a good few weeks to come back to you though, as Mrs Thatcher is elderly and not in very good health at the moment. However, she is a very good signer - eventually . . . .
Best of luck
Ian
