More than one photo to a celebrity?

What is everyone’s opinion on sending more than one photo to a celebrity?
Admin posted in Collecting Help that it was a good idea to only send one. I can see the wisdom in thatâ€â€especially if they don’t respond.
But I still wondered, does sending more than one look greedy? Will they think “one for the fan to keep and one for them to sell on e-bay,†(NOT what I plan to do with it, btw)?â€Â
I have seen several celebrities sign all photos they were sent (Dakota Fanning, & Maggie Grace for example) but some that don’t.
What do you think? Lets get a discussion going!

i would normally only send out 1, but i got a load printed that were really small so for a couple of people ive sent 2 or 3 and said to just sign whichever is easiest for me, it would be good if they all came back signed though

i think more than one or 2 is a bit much, but if its someone who you are a really big fan of i can see why people would do it. i always make a note of saying that they need only sign one though cos i dont want to look greedy

Thanks for posting, Mighty_Modders!
It was a good suggestion to send more if they are smaller.
The ones I am going to send out are 4X6 so they are not tiny, but they aren't 8X10's either.

When I send to athletes I usually send a few cards or a card and a 4x6 since they are small. Normally I won't send more than one 8x10.

I have had quite a good success rate sending more than one photo, but I list what or who they are for.
When I first started collecting I always used to send out two photos to my favourite actors/actresses/football players but but now I usually only send one, not really sure why - perhaps it makes me appreciate a success more?
I only send two if I am sending a joint request with my brother, in which case I state that's why the photos have been included and so far all 'joint' requests have been fulfilled! For example, I sent three photos to Cameron Diaz, one for myself, one for my wall and one for my brother, and not olny did she sign all three, she also sent use one of those great headshots each!
Mostly though, I would say two is a reasonable limit - an even then, state what/why you are requesting more than one. As long as you are polite, most celebs don't seem to mind! (with the odd exception such as Ian McKellen for example).

Hello!!
I usually would not send more than two pictures for a celebrity to sign. Sending many photos can make a celebrity get fed up or upset at the thought that people may be mailing them to sell their autograph on ebay(Not that any of you would, of course). Many celebrities will only sign one or 2 pictures each and send the other pictures back to you unsigned. This usually happens because the celebrity trys to be fair to all people who write to them and sign one or two each.
So i would suggest sending the max of two pictures to be signed. You can always request again sometime further down the line again, many people do that.

Hi BossC
To be honest I don't usually send a photograph at all, but when I do (about 10% of my letters) I often send more than one 10x8 or 5x7. So far I have not had any trouble getting multiple pictures signed.
However, I am collecting for charity, so maybe celebs are more happy to sign several pics (after all they know up front that I will be selling them off!)
Hope this helps
Ian

Thanks for your advice, Tomaldo , Ian and Chrissy!
I plan on only sending 2 to the celebrity, so think it will be ok.

Hi BossC
I've always sent 2 with my request (I send out 6x4's). However, I have specifically mentioned in my letter as to if it was possible, to personalise the photo. This clearly sends out the message that I don't have the intent to sell it.
From the successes received so far from sending out my own photos, I have had some celebrities personalise both, some personalised one and others not personalised any at all.
I would say 2 items should be the recommended limit per request. Obviously you could send out more items, but then again it's up to the discretion of the celebrity to determine how many items they wish to sign.

Thanks for the advice nowandagain.
How would you word asking the celebrity to personalize the photo? I could use some help with that.
