An autograph store I found on vacation...

Unread post by gghi18 »

Hello FM users,
I recently returned from a relaxing 3 day vacation with my family in Tennessee. There's an autograph shop that's been there for years. I used to go in and purchase autographs from the owner, who had posted multiple photos of stars he (and his other employees) had met over the years (It's really cool). Unfortunately, the original owner sold the store to someone else and they don't personally obtain the autographs they sell in there store but someone else does. I felt this was strange. I took some photos and posted them on my Facebook account. Please check them out and let me know if you think they're authentic or not. The ones I was weary on were Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz. I wonder if many of them are leftovers the original owner had that never sold because some of the autographs seem older and some posters for sale have been there since I was 15 (I'm 24 now; i.e. the mike myers: austin powers poster). I also included the prices (which some seemed outrageous!) I'd love your feedback! Either way, if you're in the pigeon forge, TN area, it's a lovely place!

Cool store, hopefully they're selling real autographs. The Carrie Fisher looks bad but don't know the others' sigs to say anything.

Some stores like that will put something in a frame and make it look attractive to people looking for a gift to purchase and not knowing that autographs can be fake. Sometimes it's not intentional by the store. There was a store like this in my local mall and many of the autos were cuts and matted and some were known secretarials but to the store owner's they probably don't even know.

Stores like this don't last too long, though, as they're generally very expensive and novelty.
