I was think of sending Dakota Fanning my War of the Worlds DVD cover to sign. I've never sent her a DVD cover before. Do I just put it in an big envelope? Should I put an SASE in it so they don't hve to go through the trouble of making a whole new one to send back to me? Has anybody sent DVD covers in before? Any tips? Thx.

I know this is slightly different thing but I'll tell you anyway!
I sent my Rutles video cover to Eric Idle to sign (an address in the UK). So I basically done the following:
Used an envelope that was roughly the same size as the video cover for sending it to Mr. Idle, and I also included the same size envelope for an SASE. I also included a piece of card to keep the video cover safe from bending.
That's basically it and my cover came back safe, sound and (of course) signed!
Dakota Fanning is a very good signer (I believe) so I shouldn't think there is too much risk in sending your DVD cover.
So, hope you understood all this and good luck with getting a reply!
Paul
P.S Let me know if I haven't answered all your questions!

Well. I sent my "Uptown Girls" DVD cover to her yesterday in a 5 by 7 envelope with a 5 by 7 return envelope. She has signed covers before!

I haven't sent Dakota Fanning anything before, but I sent Clint Bowyer my NASCAR 06 cover, and he signed it..

I think it's a great idea sending DVD covers to sign. I've only ever sent a few. I've had a 'Serial Mom' cover signed by Kathleen Turner. I've sent DVD covers to Juliette Lewis (via venue) and Matt Austin and I even had a DVD disc signed by Neve Campbell (that was probably the riskiest success I ever received).
