Studio Fan Mail and Pre-Prints do NOT count as autographs

Dear Collectors,
Thank you very much for sharing with all of us your successes or lack thereof with pre-printed autographs from Studio Fan Mail. In my opinion, pre-printed autographs do not count as an autograph and it is good to know which celebs are doing this so that collectors like me can avoid wasting time, effort, and money into writing to these people or their third party agents. With that being said, I know that certain celebs get thousands of fan mail each day and it is not possible for them to respond to all of their fans. Thus, I am truly appreciative to the celebs who actually take the time out of their busy schedules to hand-sign an item for a fan. Do you consider pre-printed autographs to be a success or a failure ? My thoughts are that if we wanted a copy of their autograph, we could print them off at home using our home computers. Also, I am somewhat offended by pre-prints as it is almost like getting the middle finger from the celebrity (granted it's better than not getting anything at all). I am interested in hearing what you have to say in regards to pre-printed signatures. Thank you very much for sharing and I wish you continued success with your autograph collecting endeavors.

I think you are right {up} . I wouldn't count a pre printed signature as a success, but it's better than getting nothing.

I neither count this thread/post as feedback....
Apart from that, yes I totally agree with you that pre-pints aren't quite a success.
I think some people do consider it a success because the autograph would usually be for their kids.

I agree, though, the 'success' part to me would be the fact that the address worked, it's probably handy to know if you're writing asking about some charity event. But I wouldn't call it a proper autograph, no.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and yes, a pre-printed autograph is better than nothing. It offends me more when the celebrity returns my photo back and letter without any explanation for not signing my item. The rudest response that I have ever gotten was from Stephen King. I agree that it is fun getting something in return from the celebrity; and the pre-prints can be nice to post in a classroom or office where you don't care whether or not it gets stolen.

The thing is its your opinion, many others too as is mine.

However, people will post what they want, that and it still helps to narrow down if somebody wants to send to the celebrity or not.

It all helps in the end one way or another though I would argue that sfm email success' should probably go in the sfm section.
