hey, I live in the US, upstate NY, and was wondering if i was sending something to canada, (seeings how irc's are really scarce) if i could send a few dollars US cash, (well hidden)? Because i know any time i've been to canada the us dollar has been worth a lot more than the canadian, and they gladly accept it. i always see movies with great actors and actresses filming in canada, and am disappointed, because i cant get IRC's. do you think i would have a better chance of a reply in this manner as to just a SAE?

Hey there
I think sending money should be fine as someone in the V.V feedback has posted that they always send money and hope for anything such as props etc. that they can get in reply. IRC's are scarce but I think you do have a chance with sending just an SAE
All the best
Peace

Hey there!
Usually when I send out requests I try to include a SASE as often as I can. But when I send requests to the UK, since I am from the US, I usually send a SAE with IRC's. But my post office does not sell IRC's anymore. Just recently I started experimenting with sending $2 USD in place of the IRC's. The results were almost as high as sending an SASE. I think that if you send money to help cover the postage, it shows the celebrity that you are offering to help them pay the postage cost instead of relying on them to pay it. When I was in Niagara Falls, Canada some shops accepted US Dollars alongside Canadian Money. So I would say Go For It! Good Luck!

k only one more thing, how many stamps does it take to send something to canada, say the usual 8x10 from the us, or do you HAVE to take it to the post office? b/c there is nothing worse than waiting in line forever at the post office...

76 Cents/ounce for your envelope. And no it would not be necessary to take it to the Postal Service. Just make sure you have an envelope with the appropriate amount of stamps.

I guess you can send just a SAE and mention in your letter to the celeb that you couldn't get any IRCs in your residential area. Hopefully they'll understand

HEY GUYS
IF ANYONE IS PARTICULARLY STUCK FOR SENDING THINGS TO CANADA, I CAN HELP MAKE IT EASIER. YOU CAN EMAIL ME PRIVATELY IF INTERESTED, BUT YOU CAN USE MY CANADIAN ADDRESS TO HAVE AUTOGRAPHS SENT HERE AND I CAN SEND THEM EITHER FROM CANADA OR WHEN I GO OVER TO THE US I CAN MAIL THEM FROM THERE.
ALSO IF YOU NEED POSTAGE, CANADIAN STAMPS TO GET SOMETHING BACK LET ME KNOW I CAN SEND YOU THEM IF THIS HELPS.
