Sending a letter to Canada... Help Please

Unread post by Destiny »

Hi Everyone!!
When you send a letter to Canada do you write "Air Mail" on the envelope?
If so, do you have to pay extra postage or can you just use regular stamps?

Thanks!!

about the stamps..You can go to your local post office and tell them to weight the envelope and tell them it's going to Canada. They'll put the postage necessary on it :)

As for airmail when I send from Canada (I'm Canadian) to the United States I always put a sticker i get from the post office that says air mail on it.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask :)

I just put 2 stamps on my 9x13 envelope about a month ago, and it hasn't been sent back... i think you could get away with 2 stamps, 3 to be safe... i didn't write AIR MAIL on it!

Just remember to put Canadian stamps on your return envelope.

Well, I sent a letter to Canada in December I believe to Ashley Leggat. I just did what I would do with sending it in my own country (USA). 2 0.32$ stamps. I didn't write Air Mail. I never knew I was sopossed to? Lol. Well, I haven't gotten a RTS, so I'm guessing I did it right?

Thanks everyone!!
I had already added 3 stamps to my envelope, so I just left them on there. But I did write Airmail on the envelope!!
I didn't have any Canadian stamps or IRc's, so I put $2. in the envelope and a note explaining that it was for postage!
I really hope I get a response!!
Thanks again!! {thumb2}

To send a ONE ounce letter to Canada is $0.63.

I have found that a 9x12 SASE with my letter and 5x7 envelope addressed to the celebrity weighs exactly one ounce.

Over one ounce up to two ounces is $0.87. Higher than this I'm not sure.

Hope this helped! {up}

heres the list

To mail FROM the USA TO Canada:
$0.63 10g (.35 oz)
$0.63 20g (.70 oz)
$0.90 40g (1.40 oz)
$1.15 60g (2.10 oz)
$1.15 80g (2.80 oz)
$1.40 100g (3.50 oz)

I think you'd need to put .90 on it
