IRC vs Buying stamps online - for international collectors!

Hello!

I'm from Barcelona (Spain) and I has been sent some letters with photos, SAE and some IRC to some celebritys (if i has success, I'll post the feedback!).

I sent the letters to USA celebs and when i'm looking for the shipping cost for reciving a letter from USA (to calculate how many IRCs I need to send) I see something interesting:

USPS has her own stamps online shop. In Spain each IRC costs 1,91 € (2,50 $ aproximatly) and is exangable for only 0,63 $! I think it is a better way to buy the stamps in the online shop of USPS. I has bought 6 stamps of 0,84 $, and i has paid 6 $ for the shipping at spain. Total = 11,04 $. To have 5,04 $ with the IRCs I need 6 IRC. They costs 11,46 € (aproximatley 15 €!).

If i buy the stamps online I save money, save time (the IRCs in Spain only are available in the big post offices), I recibe my stamps at home, and save celebs time too, so they can send the response to me in a SASE with US stamps.

What do you think about that?

Hi IchigoKurokasi , :)

Personally I either buy stamps online or trade stamps with someone. IRC's are too expensive.

When I first started writing to celebs, I used IRCs.

But then I switched to using stamped bought from the USPS website.

I think stamps are the better option - a number of celebs I wrote to did not respond when I sent IRCs, but did respond when I sent an SASE with US stamps.
