I have been reading the successes posted on the forum and I have a question for any one that would like to answer.

When you receive a pp or autopen why do you class it as a success? Is it because you simply got something back?

I dont mean to upset anyone but I am curious as I do not see them to be successes in my opinion so I hope someone can share their opinion and shed some light on this for me.

Thanks

I agree with you. I think they should be listed as "other". I think the reason they are listed as a success is, like you said, because they have received something back. Also, some people cannot tell the different between a preprint/autopen and an authentic, and do not want to accept the reality that their autograph is not real.

Hi Kiwiautogal :)

PP's and AP's are classed as "successes" as the request someone sent out yielded a reply from a successful tested address.

The good thing about them is that they're a good source of comparison between authentic and AP/PP autographs. However, some members don't mind receiving them but others don't like them at all. It's up to you to decide what to do with them.

I don't look at them as successes because the celebrity that your a fan of never actually looked at the letter that you spent so much time writing.. I know its at least a reply..but I'm not that happy when I get them..that's just me though!
