"Pre-print" autographs - who else thinks these are
I mean, come on people. I seriously have to ask why so many of you seem satisfied with getting some pre-printed autograph on some photo back in the mail?
True, some of you might say that it was at least something sent, but in reality, millions of these things exist. There is no vaule to them, you could find most of these on ebay.
If I can't get a real autograph at least on a piece of paper signed "to Joe", then it isn't worth my time. Even if it is just for between 3 and 45 seconds, a celebrity or musician personalizing something to me changed both of our lives and at least has some sort of personality behhind it.

Yes, they suck, but you get what you pay for, we aren't paying for these photos. Yes we pay for postage, but in reality, some folks get too many requests that it is unrealistic to expect them to answer and sign for every request.
And why would we want to pay for them off of ebay when we can get em straight from the manager or pr person for the talent in question?
Aside from that you need to be posting this elsewhere not in this part of the forum.

I agree with you. It takes two seconds for them to sign something. I understand that there are millions of other fans but come on if it makes us happy whats the big deal. I don't like pre-prints at all they are not worth anything to me. When I get the real thing I'm really happy and it means a lot. Thats what every celebrity should do.

You hit the nail on the head - it takes 2 seconds to sign a proper pic. I dont like pre-prints and I wont display them with my actual signed pics.
My mate Chico said last weekend when he was signing some stuff for me to auction off on ebay for charity, "these things will make some people happy, so I am happy to sign them". If only every celeb was as keen as him.

I agree with what everyone here has said. I would think that celebrities (from ones in Hollywood to ones in sports) would take even a hour out of every week to sign requests to make people happy. What annoys me more than PP's though are autopens. Because with autopens comes the controversy over trying to figure out if the signature is real. Unless it is widely know that the celebrity uses autopens, it makes you think its the real thing and then your more disappointed when you realize its fake. (At least with PP's you know that they are fake.) Also if a celebrity who uses autopens decides to send a real autograph then the person who recieves the autograph may think it's fake. In short, all of these forms of fake autographs are very annoying and celebrities should try to send out real autographs to make people happy. Sorry for the length.

Go Red Sox
"Foulke to the set, the 1-0 pitch, here it is...swing and a ground ball, stabbed by Foulke. He has it. He underhands to first. And the Boston Red Sox are the World Champions. For the first time in 86 years, the Red Sox have won baseball's world championship. Can you believe it?"

I'm gonna be honest even though I get autopens sometimes. I hate them and I hate PP. But what most celebs that have their fame rising are just lazy. True, they might get a load of fan mail but why not just take like at least one day of just signing? I mean look at Hilary Duff...like 4 or 5 years ago, she signed authentically and now, she spends her time shopping and all that and I really hate her PPs and I hate SFM!

I hate preprints......it annoys me on this site if I see a success posted by someone of someone whoes autograph I want and i get all excited about that I might be able to get it only to find out its a pre print.
Whats weird is 9 times out of 10 the person who recieved the preprint is happy with it......im dusgusted when ive taken the time to write a letter and they send me a poxy preprint.

Actually I have no problem with preprints being sent out by celebs.,athletes, etc. I think more should send out preprints or just unsigned photos instead of sending out secretarials which fool alot of novice collectors as being authentic.Autopens are a joke and are easily recognizable. The only way to avoid the preprints, autopens, secretarials is to learn the hobby, study and avoid sending requests to those individuals.
