E-mailing?

I've sent a few requests through email (excluding SFM) and I've just written it as if iw as writing a normal letter as if it was to the person, but I'm not sure whether or not to do this.
I was just wondering if it's best to say "I am a big fan of whoevers work. if its not too much trouble could you please send a signed photo."
or
to write it as if its actually going to the person.
Any advice is appreciated.

Personnally, each time I send an email request (without taking into account fanmail), I write something like "I am a big fan of whoevers work. if its not too much trouble could you please send a signed photo."
But the other way is good too ! because it may happen that a celebrity reads his/her fanmail !

I sort of write it in am ambiguous way as well, unless I know for certain the name of the person the e-mail is going to (a manager or agent, for example). Then I simply send it to them directly and as that they pass along the message. Most that respond agree to pass the e-mail along directly to the celeb, so that's cool.
Otherwise, if I don't have a specific name, I'll word the letter so it makes sense to both parties.
Just my 2c.

I always write it as though it's going to the person, even if it's the manager's email address. The only difference for me though is the subject. If it's going to the person I put "Autograph", if it's going to a manager I put "Celebrity's Name Here's Autograph"

I write as if I am writing to the celebrity and at the bottom I say something like "If this message has reached the wrong recipient please forward to the appropriate person. Sorry for the inconvenience"

I usually write to the celebrity- even though in all likelyhood they are not going to personally read it
But, if the email address is like
bob@parishiltonjail.com I would write to "Bob" asking for the autograph of Paris
*Note that I made up the address above
Good luck and I hope my advice was helpful- if it was I would appreciate a
rep point. Thanks!
