I find it strange that some people like to collect fake autographs, yea i guess i cant say no to ''you only know it if you were there'', but aint it comman sence sometimes, or is it just that some people enjoy blinding themselves from the truth. Maybe people are trying to help other collectors by notifing them wat they have is not a genuine article.

It's ruined by the stars who employ assistants to sign their names, not by a fellow collector who identifies an autograph as a secretarial.

can someone show me evidence that secretarials do happen ? i am not saying they dont happen , but i would like to get some idea of how people know it does happen , and not just word of mouth or rumours . thanks

Of Course. I borrowed some scans of autographs from some fanmail.biz users. I hope you guys don't mind!

Lets start with Kiefer Sutherland. The star of "24", one of my favorite TV shows. His response times are eye-shockingly fast. Usually less than a month. How would someone that famous have that much time to sign?

Here is an example of an average TTM (Through The Mail) Success:



Here is an authentic Sutherland signature obtained In Person:



It doesn't look at all like the TTM Successes.

And now have a look at Paul Newman's and Matthew Broderick's Signatures:





Unless I am mistaken (which I may be), the TTM Sutherlands, Newmans, and Brodericks all appear to have been signed by the same person.

I'll let you guys be the judge.
