why do you ask for an autograph request?

Personnaly i only ask autograph requests to celebrities or sports figures who i like and not because that person is a good signer.

I agree with you. I don't see how it can be fun getting auto's from people you don't like or haven't even heard of.

I write to people i like, but if they are a good signer that's a bonus!

I write to sports-stars in order to compile as many signatures from a particular club/country as possible in my chosen sport (ie. as many 'Test' Cricketers as possible), this way you can even compile signatures of famous matches (with the signatures of all who played in that particular game). In these cases 'team sheets' are nomally the best way, however that can prove very hard if you cant get them in person at the game, in which case visiting cards (often referred to as 'index cards') are a great alternative.

I write to celebs that I admire and enjoy there work, its just the satisfaction of reciving an autograph back which makes it worthwhile for me, I love to recieve new autographs and get excited when a new one arrives its good to see how they respond to your letter and if they have persoanlly signed it with your name and put a great comment on.
