If I send a 4x6 in. photo (I grabbed a pic from the internet and printed it myself) in a regular letter envelope (4x10 in. or something like that) will it come back with little 'ripples' on the photo, from slight creases in the middle of the photo?

I dont see why it should, I have never had this problem or seen it happen. You might have a better chance of it not happening if you write DO NOT BEND on the envelope

Thanks again!

You mean the photo is sorta bent? Curved in places? Thats what you mean by ripples?
I like to avoid that, if there is any chance, so I always back my enevelopes with hard cardboard from the inside. It barely increases the amount of postage needed to send. Like I usually spend 93 cents CAN but it ends up being 1.15 CAN. Not really a big deal
Well thats just my opinion lol

Well I guess its not that big of a problem. It should still come back fine. Usually ripples only happen when people bend it alot, and that usually does not happen with business 4x10's. But I was just saying for future deals, I would advise to put cardboard or some sort of photo cover.
