For those of you that have sent to musicians- what was your longest wait? I have sent to several a couple of weeks ago, and am kind of disappointed (after seeing John Willaims' reply-a year!) to see that it can take a looong time. I know that they tour a lot, but still...

I pretty much only send to musicians via venue. It's usually a lot faster than writing them through their record label and there's more of a chance that you will receive an authentic back. I check and see where they are touring and then send requests to venues that pass on fanmail. I got a Ben Folds autograph that way and I'm currently waiting on Fiona Apple, Gwen Stefani and Incubus.

So far I've only sent 2 vv to musicians and never heard from them. The first one was back in March to a venue which passes on fan mail and the second one was in mid July to a venue which never responded to my email asking if they pass it on

I haven't really done SASE for musicians. I got all of mine in person. Except for one--I emailed asking if there was a fanmail address and she just said to send her my address and she'd get me pic. It took about a week.

I only sent to one musician and she was amazing and wrote right back. But she's not very well known.

I think the only musician that I've had a reply back was from the Click Five. It took about a year! I was so suprised when I got it back. It's dissapointing when that happens because sometimes you outgrow the musician or band, I know I did. (They are splitting aren't they?) Anyway, I find most musicians that I have seen to either take a long time, send pre-prints, or absolutely nothing. I am an impatient person, lol, and usually don't send celebrities who take a long time to reply. However, if you really enjoy many musicians, I'd keep trying. Just expect a while for some.
