Return address anticipation

Unread post by Peyton »

So, I have attached a POLL. The question is do you like having the Return adress on the envelope? Do you like knowing who's autograph you are about to open and get. Or do you like no return adress and having the anticipation build up ever second you open the envelope? I defintitely like no return adress and having the anticipation build up ever second I open the envelope. For example, my Jonas Brothers success (posted in Via Venue) had no return address. I was so excited not knowing who it was! :) Tell me your thoughts.

Thanks,
Peyton L.

I usually write the name of the celeb in the return address area on the SASE, but I do not put their address. That is mostly in case the envelope will not fit in my mailbox without bending so the post-lady has to leave me a green slip. In that case, I'd like to know whose autograph is waiting for me at the post office.

I live atop of a hill, and the mailbox is at the bottom. Sometimes I open the envelope right as soon as I take it out of the mailbox. You know what they say about anticipation, "it's making me wait." So yeah, I like to know right away whose autograph is waiting in my hand to be opened.

I write the first initial and last name of the celebrity, and don't write a return address. That way, I know who it is before I open it, but still don't tell everyone my letter comes in contact with, who it's from. When it's someone big, that I wouldn't expect a return from, I'll leave it blank, just so it's that more exciting when it's returned, but that's rare.

I dont put a name or return address, as if I d9id, then I think there would be a greater chance of the mail being 'stolen' ...

I put a number on the back of the envelope and keep a record of which number goes to which celebrity.

Eg: 001: Joe Bloggs.

My thoughts exactly. Not that I think my mailman is crooked, but that does offer me some comfort that no one will know what is in it. And I like the anticipation and surprise of when I open it. But if there is a return address (when the celeb writes it) I'm not disappointed, but excited that they took the time to respond.

For the return address, I put MY address because we'll never move from here..it could never be wrong, really. If the celebrity decides to write theirs instead, it's all good. When I get a e-mail success, there's USUALLY a return address but, sometimes not. Still, I'm just as happy!

I never know, when it's my own envelope, who it is. I like it to be a surprise.

And my family's mail has been stolen before. We have a mailwoman, and she's quite the looney, I'll tell you that much. So really, I may, or may not have had mail stolen before. Something seems weird that I'm not getting half of my mail back (I don't write if people get RTSs, I check the feedback, and when the address has been valid for a while and actually works, I'll write.) that is from a valid address.. :?
