does it scare the celeb if you tell them they are pretty

It depends on the context you use, the age of the celebrity, your age, and who the celebrity is.
In some cases, saying that could ruin your chance of an autograph, in others it helps. It really depends on what I put above as to what will happen.

Ummmmm I wouldn't think so. I've done it, and it's never been a problem. I wouldn't think twice about it. I think it would ruin your chances more if you told them they were ugly lol. I know if I was a celeb, it wouldn't freak me out a bit if you just say they are pretty, but don't go off in a paragraph about it.

It depends on the celebrity. If that celebrity is like someone who feels like people are stalking her (whatever feeling you call that), just don't tell them that. If it's a celebrity who seems cool about a bunch of stuff and likes to get compliments, sure!

I normally put it at the end of the end of the letter to a celeb who looks like they would be cool about it (use your own judgement!) - for example, with Peter Crouch of Liverpool F.C, I said 'P.S I think you're really handsome ;)' - I didn't bang on about it, because I'm not writing to him for his looks, but he is a fun-looking guy. But for someone like Daniel Craig who doesn't suffer fools gladly, and takes his acting extremely seriously, I left out that I find him s.e.x.y. For a female, you should probably just say she's very pretty and graceful, and carries herself well. That sounds decent enough, and leave it at that.

As long as you don't go on and on about it I don't think it'd scare anybody.
I've said it once before and didn't think anything of it until this board. Now I'm wondering if I scared them

Well there's an old saying "if in doubt dont" but I would not.
I dont even think about that.
All celebs, need their space, and this could make some feel hemmed in, and also it' VERY personal.

I told someone they have cool hair
But I personally wouldn't want to scare the celebrity.
