Writing to Prison

Unread post by classictvguy »

Has anybody here considered writing a letter to someone in prison? I have been thinking about writing letters to Mark David Chapman and possibly Lynette Fromme. They are both serving life sentences. I've always thought that it would be an interesting conversation piece to have. Anybody else ever thought about this?

yes, but I decided I wouldn't want to take the risk of it getting into the wrong hands and have someone have my address that I didn't want.

Thats what I am also worried about. Mark David Chapman is in a solitary confinement part of prison and apparently does not have much communication with other inmates.

I think it depends on the "type" of person you're sending to, to be honest.

Paris Hilton had successes from when she was in jail, and there was even a report of a success from Saddam Hussein (although this may have been a "via courtroom" success, I forget).

If its a celeb in for a minor offence (Hilton, Lohan spring to mind) then theres nothing really wrong with it. (Although I go back and forward on this subject)

However I wouldnt want a mass murderer knowing my name, let alone my address!

I dont know anything about the people you named though.

Lynette Fromme was Charles Manson's right hand girl.

It would be a great conversation piece. I'm just not willing to take the risks involved in getting that conversation piece.

Ok that's freaky. There is no way EVER that I would send to a murderer. Like, I wouldn't want them knowing my address in the case that they escaped or some strange thing like that.
Like people who go to prison for a DUI or whatever then yeah. I mean, I wrote to Paris Hilton while she was in jail. That I don't see as a big deal. But a murderer? Yeah no way.

I wouldnt right to some one like that.
Because like why would I want to have a killers autograph?
Its nothing to be proud of, killing people.

But I dont see the harm in writing.
They have life sentences so they wont come after you or anything.
And if they do escape, they prob. wouldnt go after you
You wrote them fanmail not hate mail so Id think theyd leave you alone.
