Would this be rude?

Unread post by AMCP »

I want to send a photo of a drawing to a artist/actor.

The photo is of a simple cartoon character in a field. How would I say that I would love it if he added something to it? Such as a drawing? Since I've seen him do drawings such as on an index card/photo.

I don't mean to say that the photo isn't good enough and I don't want to sound rude or greedy. Ha ha. Though that would be amazing if I was lucky enough to have something that personal from him.

Sorry if this sounds silly, I'm writing the letter now and wanted to ask all of you before I send it off.

Hi AMCP! ;-)

I don't think it's rude at all! {up} It shows you're a real fan and that you're not just writing to have an autograph. :D I always try to make my letters interesting and add something special along with it! Mabey you can just ask "If you might have the time...", "If it's possible..." or something like that so he can see that you don't assume that he has all the time in the world! :lol:

Anyways, good luck!! :mrgreen: Let us know when you get something back!! {thumb2}

Regards,
Lizanne

I agree with Lizanne, it wouldn't be rude to do that, and I;m pretty sure that most people who have written fan mail to the person haven't thought of that :mrgreen:

Actually it is a great idea. I once wrote to al feldstein, he is a comic book illustrator for mad magazine. He once worked for ec comics for their tales from the crypt. Anyway I sent a half photo of one of his comic covers and left the other side blank. When I recieved it back on the blank side next to the photo was an awesome graveyard scene with a hand coming out. It was great. Good Luck.
