Do You Approve of Emailing after you sent your letter?

It had been about two months since I sent my letter and I decided to email the celebrities webmaster (or I suppose it could have been them) and asked if they receive fanmail at blahblah such place. Then, about a week later I got it back (after the email).
Has anyone else done this or is this just kind of rude?

Aslong as your just asking whether or not the letter has arrived i should say its ok.

I've never done it but if it works and you're polite, I don't see a problem in emailing

I have done it a couple of times, before I stopped TTM autograph collecting. I was polite with my question, and had no problems in getting a response.
