Return Address on SASEs

Hello.

I often check people's feedback posts, and I've noticed a lot of people write their address in the return address spot on their SASE/SAEs. I was wondering, is that legal? If, say, you don't have enough postage and it's a return to sender, wouldn't they realize that your address is in both spots? Would they throw it away or do they actually send it? If you can help me out, thanks so much! I've been leaving that spot blank but if I'm allowed to & it will actually work, I'm going to write my address there so it's guaranteed to come to me. Thanks for the help, guys!

Same here, I always put my address in both spots, and I've asked my postmaster and she said it's not a problem because if it does come back to me because of something like a lack of postage, then I'll have to pay for the postage either way.
