Young Frankenstein Cast Updates!

Unread post by TheScarletPimpernel »

The New Mel Brooks Musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, is currently going under some major issues.

First of all, Mel Brooks officially equals inconsiderate, annoying and low. Brooks has officially announced that all the salaries for the leads in YF, which were already decently high for a stage performer, will officially be cut by 50%. However, Mel Brooks and the other director, who make nearly 6-figure salaries will not be taking the cut, despite many of the descisions having been influenced by Mr. Brooks himself, including the $450 Premium Seat ticket price, over $150 over the next musical, Jersey Boys (for Saturday night performances only), which is $100/$50 more than the average musical.

Roger Bart will be out for a few days shortly, not due to the paycut, but for a television pilot.

Sutton Foster will be leaving July 6 (reportedly/rumored) to begin rehersals with Shrek the Musical.

It is also believed that Megan Mullally will be leaving in early July.

I'm just sending this as a simple message/"warning" because it has been suggested some of the leads will seek to leave the show after the Tony Awards (June 15) because of this ridiculous pay cuts.

The Production currently stars:

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein -- Roger Bart
The Monster -- Shuler Hensley
Igor -- Christopher Fitzgerald
Inga -- Sutton Foster
Elizabeth Benning -- Megan Mullally
Frau Blücher -- Andrea Martin
Inspector Hans Kemp, The Hermit- Fred Applegate
Dr. Victor von Frankenstein -- Kevin Ligon

So if you plan to send to any of the above, I would recommend doing so shortly!
WONDERLAND:Alice's New Musical Adventure enjoyed a short, but sweet run on Broadway in Spring of 2011!
