How Do You Feel About PP?

I know a lot of people say that they like PP's and that they are better than nothing.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

Honestly, I don't really like PP's, mostly because that usually means the letter your wrote remained unread. All that postage that could have been used on a real auto was wasted. You can get PP's on ebay for like 5 bucks or for free using SFM... I hope it doesn't sound greedy or anything I just don't like them and almost rarely keep them, unless I know for a fact I'd never be able to get an authentic. I would give PP's away as gifts to friends or fans.

It may be because my only autographs are authentic, I don't know.

I don't mind them, most PPs look nice, plus it shows the celebrity cares about their fans rather than not give them anything back, whether they're busy or not.
Of course, I do prefer authentics

I only prefer pp's over not getting anything back at all. I usually just toss them though, they have no value to me, but at least I don't have to wait for a reply from that person anymore.

Oh that's true, at least that person can be taken off the 'waiting' list, so I agree.

I hate preprints. I'd rather receive a letter saying 'sorry, but so-and-so is not able to sign for you'.


Preprints, stamps and autopens are the pits for me, I'll never have anything good to say about them.

I chuck them away unless the picture's particularly nice. I don't like them at all. I would rather have my letter rts so that I can use the sase on another celebrity! {thumb2}

Could not have said better. PPs are real nice looking when you think about it rather than a stamped or sometimes an autopen can be bad. I do as said prefer authentics though too!

I just leave them in the envelope and keep it with the returned SASE/SAE ...

If I couldn't get an authentic, then I would prefer a PP.
A PP is something at least and is far nicer to send than something like a secretarial - that's the lowest of the low!

I used to keep my preprints but now I only keep my authentics. I guess I got a bit spoiled! Luckily, I can't remember when the last time was when I got a preprint!
