Ok I'm somewhat new to this place, I've been scoping the forums slowly trying to figure this out and I've noticed people collect these for different reasons. Some to sell, some just for the autos and some for other reasons.

Why do you collect?


I personally collect, not to sell, but not necessarily for the autograph it's self. I do it because I want a little something that a celeb I adore (I've only mailed out to celebs I really admire) has touched, and it's like a little bit of a memento that a celeb I love took time, even if for a few seconds, for me.

I think that's why PP's mean nothing to me, because it's not why I do it.

I don't collect to sell, or just for the sake of having any random celebrity's autograph, that's for sure.

I collect people I admire, or find interesting. Like you say, it's great to have a personal momento from an important/famous person. I love personalized autographs specifically, but I'm happy with any authentic - can't stand preprints/stamps/autopens/secretarials.

I collect because its just a heck of a lot of fun!

I agree with the above posts - I love writing to people whom I really admire and it's just amazing to get their authentic autographs in the mail, especially when it's personalised! I also don't keep/count preprints or any other fakes anymore.

I collect because I enjoy the buzz of getting something in the mail that isn't bills {thumb2}

I actually started only in person. But then I just really wanted a collection of some of my favorite writers, actors, singers, football players, etc.... In person ones are still my favs but it's a good feeling to get something back in the mail. Plus you never know when it will come.

I started to collect it because I know it's nearly impossible for me to meet those footballers/artists I love...so I would like to have something from them...
and it is great when you got feedback....

and my fd think I am crazy and waste $$...but I enjoy it a lot..

i collect the people i like or admire that is why i collect autographs

i started collecting for the simple reason of i wanted the people that i admire's autograph's to keep for life.
The only time i have gotten rid of a autograph is when i have doubles and have traded with people on here that's it
