Do many of you do it? prefer it?

Im thinking of starting this up rarther then just requestion one, but do I need a special printer? Never really printed anything like this before I dont think my printer would be up to scratch. How much ink would it use for a full picture? Or do you use smaller pictures then A4?

Hi!

I do prefer sending my own photos, because it's more personal when you can actually choose the item which the celebrity will sign for you ;-) Some of the photos the celebrities are not as handsome as other photos which can be found around the Internet. And the last reason of sending my own photos is that you won't receive the same pic as everyone else who didn't send the picture - it's something special for you then {thumb2}

I'm sorry, I really don't know how much ink is needed for printing of one photo, I prefer my photos being professionally developed. But printers should be used for priting photos, shouldn't they? If you use special photo paper, of course. As for a size of pictures, I like to have my pics all in size A6 (4x6x inches,10x15 cm), I don't need larger photos, but I think most of people here send out A4 photos.

I hope I was some help! ;-)

Hey LikelyLadsfan! ;-)

Personally, I never send my own photos, except when it's via venue. {thumb2} I just love the photos the celebrities send out as it's usually a rare pic which you can't find online (for example I've never seen my Charlie Cox, Ben Barnes or Jean Reno pics online {up} ) and it's a nice surprise. :D

I think you don't have to send a perfect Kodak printed glossy photo to each celebrity as it firstly can cost a lot and you're not guarenteed to get it back signed or even back at all. :? Of course, if I were to send my own pics I would have love to get them all professionally printed but that's not possible for me. :lol: So, when I send my own photos via venue, I try to print it for as cheap as possible (I will never sell them anyways so it's just for personal use...) on the computer on a thick, glossy-type pape (as I did for my Paul Bettany autograph {up} ). Or, magazine photos always looks brilliant in my opinion. {thumb2}

Lastly, it's not nessassary to print 8x10 (A4) sized photos, as Sammya, I always print nice 4x6". :D

Good luck collecting,
Lizanne

Also you would need to keep in mind, that if you download an image from the internet, it is highly likely to be copyrighted.

There are a few good sites that sell, good 8x10 celeb pics not too expensively. But most of the time they will send out one of their own. And yes some of these are quite rare.

Hey Lizanne :)

If you ever want to try the professionally printed route, CNA prints 6x4's for R2.50 each! Certain Pick n Pay's do it as well, for R1.80 I think..was there a few days ago printing a few photos for via venue requests :lol:

I hate having to print my own photos though, as you have to worry about resolution, colour, size, and all that nonsense. It's really annoying when you go to a shop and print a photo, and it comes out all blurry and yellow! Its 'safer' to let the celeb send you the photo, as you know it will be of an excellent quality, and a nice suprise to see a shot of them you perhaps haven't seen before. Also makes your collection look more diverse, there'd be nothing more boring then having a collection full of one-size photos!
