Im new also, dont expect anyone to help as i have been asking also but no replies... But in order to make a good letter in my opinion just keep it short... The (why you admire the star, what you want, etc) basically be a kiss ass...keep it short and simple because they are busy people going through piles of requests

Welcome, both of you. When I first started I just wrote leters to the stars with very little success. A few months later I started doing SASEs and put a pic in the envelope too and got way more successes. So, I suggest you should do SASEs. Yes they are more expensive but, way worth it. These are the basics but if you have any more questions feel free to ask me through this topic or PM me. Good Luck!

Hi:
I have tried looking for ttm sample letters, autograph request sample letters and there is little to nothing of value on the web.

I suggest that you write to someone that has been a success for a few people that you youself are passionate about. It can be difficult to write a request letter to someone if you are writting just for an autograph. I can't tell you exactly what to write that has to come from you.

I have collected autographs in person for many years, so I write my letters as if we were meeting in person. Be polite, tell them why you are writing and why you have chosen to ask them for their autograph. I also thank them for taking the time to read the request.

Include a self addressed stamped envelope with the proper postage and be reasonable with the number of items that you are requesting to have signed.

Baseball Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr has this to say about autograph collectors http://baseballbytheletters.blogspot.co ... talks.html

Good luck

Hi~
You don't have to send photos, unless your sending VV. I send index cards, but most people will send a picture instead. Also send a SASE. It's the only way most celebrities reply.
Next - don't be a kiss ass! If your a real authentic fan, your letter should sound genuine enough the celebrity will reply! and always ask nicely for a signature on your item/ a reply at the end.
"I know your really busy, but I would love if you'd reply in my self addressed stamped envelope" or "i know your really busy, but I would love if you'd sign the photo/indexcard/whateveryouincluded and return it in my self addressed stamped envelope"

xoxo
