Why let people post with out giving addresses? I mean they post a photo of someone that they got and autograph from and tell this nice little story. Then they go on to "more or less" tell you they're better then you and they're not going to give out the address because they don't want people to send the person mail......LOL WTF? This is what this website is about helping other collectors get the information they need. Not going " LOOK WHAT I GOT" but you can't have it... They got the address from someone but they won't pass it on??? Doesn't seem fair. So I feel if you post a success you should give the address.If not don't post it. They sent mail to the person for an autograph why is it so bad that someone else does too? It just doesn't seem fair to read about someone you've been looking for and address for then it says " sorry I'll never give it out so don't ask"...That's just BS!

I agree! it's so annoying when they are like "Don't ask, not giving it out!"
I keep a list of my successes in my signature because I like when people ask me to help them get that autograph. I've only said once I wasn't giving an address out, but I gave it to everyone who PM'd me!!!!!!!! It's even worse when you PM them and they say "the celebrity gave it to me and asked me not to give out" more then likely they didn't!

Sometimes the addresses I use have been given to me directly by the celebrity or their management as I do interact a lot with management and agencies, so I will not post those unless they are already on the internet or under their contact page. I don't post emails, which is why most of my email successes go under 'general discussion' and people are free to search for them, as 9/10 I searched for them to begin with. I don't ask for emails and I don't give them out. same for VV addresses.

I've learned in this hobby, some information can't be displayed on public sites where literally THOUSANDS of people have access to it. Even if they don't register or post here, all the info we post is visible to them. It's not that I'm greedy, but with issues happening in the past and production offices actually telling people they got so much fan mail they tossed it all out, I'm going to do my part to keep this from happening.

You have a different reason. You don't post stuff on the feedback section and you won't do things for others because of the spamming (like Sharpays fabulous adventure... which still bugs me to this day ;D )

But still they gave you that address. You didn't have to search for hours and hours.They must have not minded that you sent a letter asking for an autograph.So why would it be any worse for someone else to send one? It just doesn't seem fair for people to post stuff and not help the next guy out ya know? You always post on these type of posts and say the same things.."look for it yourself" the address is out there. blah blah blah....Your one of the ones that post things and not give addresses.So of course you'd be one of the ones to say it's OK to post and not give addresses.It gives guys like you a bad rap I've thought it about you myself.I thought who does this guy think he is?Why is he posting these if he's not going to help others out? I'm not trying to dog you guys that do it. I just just don't think it's fair to post them. I mean it sends the message that you got we didn't so there ha ha..I have never and will never sell an autograph...I think it's horrible and disgusting to make money of of someone else without them knowing and getting their fair share of the money. I've never bought an autograph for that same reason.Unless I see the person sign and I know they get the money.I always ask for the autograph to be made out to me. I just feel if you can't post the address for any reason.<Just to be fair to everyone> you shouldn't post about it. Theres moderators that do it too...what kind of message is that sending to the rest of the people that are really working hard to find an address...Just like you always say.." search for it yourself" " the address is out there" Well this is a website designed to help people like us "LOOK" and "SEARCH" for the addresses that are out there for people to get these autographs.If people don't give out addresses they use to get an autograph they might as well just put a big disclaimer on the home page saying" YOU'LL NOT GET ANY USEFUL INFORMATION HERE SO MOVE ALONG"...It just kills me to see someone looking for an address and the guys that "don't give out addresses so don't ask" knowing how hard it is to find some of these addresses and not want of even try and help out your fellow autograph collectors. I have never and will never hold back with an address...If I have I'll give it. Sorry to be long winded on this but I just feel very strongly about helping out my fellow collectors....And I'm sorry if I offended anyone too..Like I said I just don't feel it's fair is all...Sorry

I do post addresses that I use, but for emails I don't. if their's a return addres on the envelope, then yes, I'll post that. Many times I will ask the managements that I'm in contact with, if I'm free to post the addresses they provided me and if they say 'YES' then I will, but sometimes they ask me not to, as they can't accomodate lots of letters coming in and prefer that I do not pass along the addresses.

I had a couple issues years ago where I posted addresses that I was given by managments and they found out and promptly contacted me saying I need to remove the addresses, so I learned from my mistake and won't post those unless given written permission to do so.

I'm all for helping out collectors's, don't get me wrong on that, and I am always replying to messages that I get on here and several other autograph forums, I literally get a couple hundred messages every month with members asking me questions and I do my best to help as much as possible.

He's telling the truth on that. He knows what he's doing, he doesn't post to just show off what he got.
There's member that don't post the address because there's people who aren't registered here that come and get the addresses to sell. I hate it when you PM the person and they say "Sorry, not giving it out" that's the wore. Ryan won't give them out, but he'll point you in the right direction or give some helpful tips.
Sounds awfully a lot like your saying he's another show off.
I hate it even more when some one tells you "Don't even try that address" even though you searched it and found it yourself....

No you do not post all the addresses you use...Like you said I don't post addresses from VV or ones I've got from managements. So on and so on..It's in big bold print right in your signature on the bottom of every one of your posts. Plus I've seen other posts where you make little comments like " I've always figured if their collecting TTM to begin with and have to hunt down pics and take time to write the letters and addresses envelope and print photos off and buy supplies, most collectors won't mind looking for addresses, I guess it depends on how dedicated you want to be to the hobby. If you put in a little effort, you get a little success, if you put in a lot of effort & research you get bigger replies, and I don't mean autograph wise, but in terms of who your able to contact if you put forth more effort." So more or less you're saying If you don't work hard and search and search for these addresses all by your self with no help you'll not get good contact info.Or that people buy the stuff and print the photos so they should have to find the addresses without help and if it's easy to find it's not any good.That's not very collector friendly. I've seen post where you tell people "DON"T POST THE ADDRESS" you're telling people not to be helpful to other collectors.
I've seen 2 moderators on the same post about how they're not going to give out an address..It doesn't matter about an address.If the people didn't want mail at it they wouldn't give it out to anyone at all. Like you said you get addresses from managements..Well if they didn't want mail sent there why would they give it to you then?Unless you get them for some other reason like your work or something.Then just use them for your personal use without people knowing to get autographs.Like I said before it's just not fair. Plain and simple it's just not fair and it's not right..This is a ADDRESS DATABASE! But yet some people won't give out addresses? That's like going to McDonalds and them saying " no we don't sell Big Macs anymore" It just doesn't make sense. I'm not the only one that feels like this either there's a lot I mean A LOT of people with the same view on it. It would just be nice and courteous to your fellow collector that if you're going to post a success. Post the address with it. If not then just don't rub in other peoples faces that you got it but they can't even try.
