IS IT SAFE TO FRAME AUTOGRAPHS?

Unread post by Big Ben »

Hiya everyone :D

I'm planning to frame some of my autographs to put them on the wall, but I'm not sure if this could damage them :? .

What could I do to protect them or do you think it's safe?

Thank you all {up}

Yes, you can frame them! just make sure to put a 'spacer' between the photo and the glass, so over time the photo does not stick to the glass. also be sure and keep them out of direct sunlight, nothing will fade autographs quicker than leaving them in the sun.

DUE TO MY BUSY WORK SCHEDULE OUTSIDE OF AUTOGRAPH COLLECTING & INCREASING SPAMMING ISSUES I CAN NO LONGER GIVE OUT OR LOOK UP VIA VENUE OR EMAIL ADDRESSES. Thanks for your quick reply, Ryan {up} . What kind of spacer should I use, some kind of foil maybe?

Many thanks :D

You can pick spacers up at any craft store, their like thin pieces of hardbacked foam, that keep the photo raised off the glass just a bit. {up} or you can pick up a matte from that does the same thing.

Hey Ryan i used cardboard in front of my signed cd cover and do you think this will keep it safe ?? it is just normal black cardboard but i purchesed another one which is about half a CM thick for my next item to frame do you think this is good enough to help it not stick to glass ?? cheers mate

Not sure I understand what you mean? you put Cardboard in front of the CD?? or was there like a space cut out of the cardboard so the CD can show through? That should be fine as long the signed item itself is not touching the glass. {up}
