Di you ever get frustrated?

Unread post by horselightning »

I feeling a bit discouraged and frustrated right now. Waiting on three autograph requests. Some i've been trying toget for some time. Have written numerous addresses on. They current ones have been out there for 4 or 5 months about. After trying so hard I wonder if i'll get a reply. Anyone ever try Adrian Zmed?

It can be discouraging. I'm still waiting for one but it's only been a month. Try not to let it frustrate you too much. Remember that a lot of things can happen to delay or prevent your receiving a signature, up to and including the fact that some celebs just won't sign. But also they could be extremely busy, didn't get your request or haven't gotten to it yet or any number of situations can pop up.

A couple of mine have been out there 4 months so far. Another 5 months. I just saw feedback on the feedback section and someone got answer back after 9 months. Sure takes awhile. I do not know if anyone the ones I'm waiting won't sign or not. I just keep my fingers crossed.

I used to get a little more frustrated back when I first started, not so much anymore though. I'm still waiting on some I sent back in July :shock:

July is along ways aways. Publishers are the hardest to get autograsphs through., Because you don't know if they forward the request on to the author. I was reading they read the fan mail and decide what they will send on and what they will through out. Sounds pretty nasty to me. I feel like if any of the people at these addresses are not going to foward it on to them , then should have the request sent back. Cause you don't know what happened to your request. That is so hard.

I've sent out somewhere around 110 requests, each one with a LOR, photo, and SASE. My first ones were sent out Jan 12th, and the rest have been staggered every week or so since then. It's weird how the time for response is so varied. Ie, Daniel Day Walker, possibly the best male actor living, personalized and returned in less than 2 weeks. I have several actors who are essentially 'extras' on the TV show they were on and no response in 2 months. We just have to keep in mind that everybody has lives, and answering fanmail is not their priority. It certainly wouldn't be on my priority list.

Haha, I've got out over 200+ requests at the moment and many go all the way back to 2004!!! so that's 9 years so far!! TTMing is a hobby of patience. {up} Sometimes it takes years. Celebrities are extremely busy and their schedules are always so jammed packed, that sometimes fanmail get puts to the bottom of the list for a while till their schedules allow some time to sit down and go through it all. {up}
