Ellen Degeneres FAILURE!!

Unread post by mikedee69 »

I am late for posting this and i apologize. On 1/4/12 I sent Ellen her book, a SASE and a letter to her studio address in hopes of obtaining her signature on the book for my daughter as a graduation gift. She enjoys watching her show and is also obtaining her Masters this year as well. On 1/26/12 I received the envelope back, the top tore off, stamped unsolicited mail and refused on the envelope. As they tore the top off, the letter and the SASE was torn as well. I just figured if it was unsolicited mail and they wanted to refuse it, then why rip if open to see whats inside? Pity. Oh well....

Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. Its ok, it goes with the territory of the hobby. And besides, money always works as a graduation gift too. :)

It seems to me that they can't have it both ways, opening it and then returning it, if you're gonna get technical, bills are unsolicited too, "I didn't ask for this bill, send it back!", but I guess the bright side of that is that you actually got your book back instead of it getting thrown in the trash.

They don't know that it's unsolicited until they open it to look.. I don't understand why that's so hard for people to comprehend.

Just because she didn't specifically ask for mail from the OP doesn't mean that what the OP was sending was unsolicited.

some jerk at the post office could have opened it with intentions of stealing it. Also if you had put ATTN: Fan Mail on it. They might have not returned it. The reason why they have to return unsolicited mail is because if you sent her a script and she made a movie with it without consulting you or crediting you and paying you for the idea, then you could sue her pants off.

It doesn't matter how you write it...she doesn't do fanmail!

As far as myself is concerned, it really wasn't the reason it was opened then returned unsolicited, it was the manner. Like i stated in the original post, whoever opened it the way they did tore the letter and also the SASE i had sent along so the stamps that were on the other envelope were also torn and useless. Just didn't know why they couldn't open it from the back. Wasn't that big a deal, just lesson learned i guess.
