Kristin Bauer X1

at the local fan expo they had here. She (the convention really...she seemed unconcered about the $, as you can see from the interaction I am adding) was charging $30 for an autograph...but, there was nowhere listed at the table of such a fee.

I looked & saw no line up (95% of the people there were there for either Adam West, Burt Ward, Jeremy Bulloch, Kevin Sorbo, Martina Sirtis or Lou Ferrigno, while several others had little to no lines.) so I approached. as I got closer I still saw no prices shown, the website did state "some celebs would be charging for their autographs".... so it seemed very evident that Kristin wasnt 1 of these pay per graph celebs...so I walked right up. Pull out the photo I brought, she happily signed it (terrific full name autograph btw) & we chatted about the photo & how they didnt bring that photo with them, but have used it before. I then put my photo away & was walking away when the lady that was positioned at her side the whole time yelled out "hey, hey". I turned around "that will be $30 for the autograph".

I then proceeded to explain that was never stated beforehand, and even the 20 or so seconds we spent talking afterwards, was no request for $ ever made. The lady tried eagerly to guilt me into paying, stating "everyone signing here has a fee". I again pointed to how no price was shown ANYWHERE. She then lifted up an 8x10 sized sign that was laying face down on the table with the price on & showed it to me. I asked her how I was supposed to read it face down, she agreed I had a point. She then still tried guilting me into paying for it. By this point, Kristin was seeming embarrassed by it all, and thanked me for coming, as if to say "please go,". I responded to the assistant by taking the photo back out, putting it between my hands & asking her if she would feel better if I just ripped it up.

Kristen & the assistant both immediately pleaded not to do that. Then the assistant said "just remember next person you go to, they will be charging." & I was on my way with the 1 & only autograph I got there.

Amazing part was NONE of the celebs were free. The "some" that the website claimed was ALL. More off-putting is, even celebs I see all the time, who sign stuff for me for free anytime I see them told us "we cant sign for free here, we have to charge" and even when I suggested "maybe after the show is over" 2 different guests told us "we're under contract till the end of the weekend." 1 added "she couldnt even sign for me if I happen to be sitting beside them at dinner legally".

I actually went in there with the INTENT of spending $30-50 on various autographs if people I wanted were charging...under the assumption they would be $2-10 ea range, afterall the people I went there for are all locals, and sign for free when I see them anyways. I certainly wasnt going there looking for the Adam Wests or Kevin Sorbos of the event. BOTH of the guests who I talked to & said they cant sign for free, I would have paid a few dollars for out of respect for the idea that it is their time & the events $ to have them there, but when the MINIMUM for anyone is $20, I'm sorry, but I just am not going to pay out of principle.

Luckily both guests have already given me the assurance they will sign for me next time no problem, 1 even suggesting where & when to find them.

I suppose I SHOULD be happy with my "free" Kristin Bauer autograph... but at $20 admission, and 45 minutes lining up just to get into the event...that seems like an overpayment too.

Nathan Fillion X1

I had hoped to get 2-3 out of him..buuut, my "hot tip", was apparently more known than I expected, as 3 other people were out to greet him upon his arrival as well.

Still, its better than nothing. Castle has become 1 of my favorite shows, so I was happy just to get 1 for my collection for now.

Nathan Fillion X2

Only about 28-30 hrs after I got him arriving, I got Mr. Fillion again today at the set, which was only about 10 blocks from my house.

He even apologized to me for not having more time yesterday.

I got him on a break around the quiet, non-populated side of the building they were filming at. I thought I had got a great scoop, only to go back around to the front & see him walking over to the 20+ fans waiting over there for him.

I'm pretty happy to see that he seems nice.

Nathan Fillion X2 again

Nathans 72 hr trip up here ended with him leaving to go back to L.A.
Upon departing there was 6 of us waiting for him & he willingly did 1-2 each on his way out.

Finished with 5 total. Not at all disappointed with that.

Ashley Greene X1

A handfull of the Twilight Breaking Dawn cast came in yesterday to do re-shoots for TSBD2.
RPattz ignored, KStew ignored (of course), Michael Sheen signed, but I was foolishly chasing Kstew at the time.
Only cast member I got was Ashley Greene on the last flight of the night. Still doing her "I only sign in black" schtick... but at least she signed this time. When they filmed TSBD 1 & 2 here, she didnt sign at all during that stay.

Jeff Bridges X2

Yes, Rachel was nice. Met her twice, both times she signed everything I had (with the exception of 1 photo she wont sign from a specific shoot that she says she was never paid for).

2012 Leo Awards were last night. 1 of my favorite events every year. A chance for me to get a lot of local actors I generally wont see because they dont stay at the hotels here obviously & rarely fly in/out.

Sanctuary - Emilie Ullerup X5, Amanda Tapping X3, Christopher Heyerdahl X3, Ryan Robbins X1, Robin Dunne X1

Sunflower Hour - Pareick Gilmore X4, Ben Cotton X3, Kacey Rohl X3, Johannah Newmarch X2, Peter New X1, Aaron Houston (director) X1

Brent Butt X2, Nancy Robertson X2, Sara Canning X2, Stephen Lobo X1

As with every year, I go there hoping/expecting to see a couple people that I simply dont see, happened again this year. But what was worse than that this year... was seeing 3 people, and picking them out, that I had things for, only to miss them because of the strange set up this had this year.

Still, not a terrible day. I hoped to get 30+ autographs, and did. Could have got 40... but should look at it for the positives I suppose.
