Thanks! Does Ernie Banks require a donation to his Live Beyond Foundation? I saw that his mailing address is to that organization, so I was wondering if that's part of the deal?JayHo7284 wrote:Bill73 wrote:JayHo,
I am a huge baseball fan as well, so I had a few questions for you.
1) Where can you find authentic MLB baseballs for purchase?
2) How much does it cost to send a baseball in the mail? And what kind of item did you send it in?
I'm on a budget, so I'm trying to figure out if I should just stick to the 8X10s or whether I can afford to send the balls. I would love Sandberg and Ernie Banks to autograph something for me. Thanks!
1) ROMLB can be bought cheapest online...just Google it. Or, you can buy them at any sporting goods store for $14-$20. If you're on a budget, you can always send a Babe Ruth League ball & they're only around $2-$4 each.
2) I use the Scotch 8x11 bubble mailer to send them off in & Scotch 6x9 bubble mailer as the return mailer. It's $2.64 to send it off & $2.46 to send it back.
P.S. - Ryne Sandberg only signs baseballs in-person at Iron Pigs' games (very liberal in-person signer, though-2 per person) & Ernie Banks will sign baseballs for free, but he normally doesn't put his HoF year on them.
Good Luck!!!

No. Like I said, I think when he first got to Spring Trainging he was feeling guilty or bad of something because I got 3 baseballs & a Cardinals mini helmet back within about a month of one another that I had sent to him over the years.fox15 wrote:Did you SEND PUJOLS ANY MONEY????????????????????/
Re: Stan Musial SUCCESS!!!
I didn't send any money when I sent to him last November. I also sent it to a Chicago address, not California. Here's the address I used:Bill73 wrote:Thanks! Re: Stan Musial SUCCESS!!!
huge question,
does musial require money for a baseball?
Someone said it cost $100 for a baseball. this is my first time doing TTM so what does SASE and LOR mean?
And if I am sending a ROMLB, what do I send it in and do I include an envelope for him to send it back?
I wrote him a LONG letter and I also said in the letter that I do not sell autographs anywhere and that this is my first try through the mail.
Thanks for the help i really appreciate it!!!
haha do not laugh at me. I am new to this

The BIGGEST thing to remember with ttm is the letter quality has to be GOOD. They can tell if it's just some bs you throw together...& it seems to be especially true with Stan Musial.
As far as money goes, it all really depends on if Stan gets his mail before his grandson. He has signed for me for free before, & I've also sent $20 & $25 at different times too. It does cost $125 if you buy a ball from his Stan the Man website.
Tip that's worked for me, try to keep your letters about 1 page.
SASE is a self-addressed stamped envelope for them to send it back in
LOR is your letter of request
Good luck! Stan was my first ttm, too! He normally takes about a week to return items, signed or unsigned.

Sent it all...not at once, though. Started in Spring Training & then throughout the year. Good luck if you're going to do it.fox15 wrote:Did you send all of that to pujols or did he send you his stuff?

This was last season & I sent to Roger Dean Stadium & then Busch Stadium. I also sent a ball to Angels' Spring Training at Diablo Stadium & got that back signed, too. I got everything back by the second week of the start of Spring Training. I guess since he showed up a week before pitchers & catchers, didn't have his family with him, & maybe felt bad about leaving the Cards all added up to him signing a few things.
He signed everything with his "sit-down" nice signature, not his shitty sloppy signature, too. Good luck & just remember that don't send anything you're not afraid of losing because he might not be signing ttm right now...or ever again.
