People in prison/killers ???

I have to admit, I find it really strange people that send letters or fan mail to murderers and criminals. I just find it really creepy but that's just my opinion I suppose!

Thats understandable and it wouldnt be fanmail i would be sending it would just be letters to see if i get one back and see what they might have to say to me... Its not like i will be saying im a fan of their work lol

I wrote to the nightstalker richard ramirez. We exchanged letters back and forth for a few months. The only thing is I never brought up his murders. I only talked about the paintings he does now. Some of which is pretty good. I sent through my home address. He is in there for life, with all the letters he does recieve what are the chances if he ever escaped he would choose mine and pay me a visit. So in other words I dont see the harm in it. If it interests you go for it.

In fact, last month I wrote to Classic Actor Robert Sorrells, currently in prison for life (sentenced for 30- 35 years at age 75, so that's life cuz I doubt he'll live age 'til 105). He did kill someone. But I'm a fan of his acting.

I sent a SASE, not knowing if it would get used. But he answered, and used my SASE. Haven't gotten around to posting it tho'.

I'm glad I wrote to him. So, go for it.

How would you get their addressess tho'? I found "mine" here in a forum.

What are they gonna do kill me they are in prison for life lol And like i said i live in canada and they are all in u.s. prisons so even if they escape and decide they didnt like my letter its not easy to get across the borders without passports nowdays lol Im ok with it ...

you have no idea the networks people in a prison have.

ask any prison guard you come across...
inmates can get any information they want.

if you know where they are incarcerated, you can just look up the prison online.
the addresses are public.
if you don't know where they are incarcerated, that information is probably on line as well.

While the chances of anything bad happening you is VERY small, sohryu76 is right... some of those guys do have huge networks outside the prison. I'm just imagining like my mom getting murdered.... and then some random guy starts writing to the killer in jail because they find it interesting that he killed my mother. Idk I don't think any murderer deserves the attention or your time

address the SASE and the letter as your neighbor..... then just sneak it into there mailbox and make sure they dont get it before you get it back.... thats what id do.

While there is always the possibility of an innocent person being convicted, it is very likely that most or all of the people you've seen on those shows are guilty. I enjoy watching the programs, too, but I would never write to them.

The last thing that should be encouraged is the idea that those in prison should become famous people on par with movie stars and pro-athletes to the point where they are getting what could be considered fan mail.

I can see everyones point. My wife was a little worried about it too when I wrote to richard, but think about this

There are people on this board who really wanted michael jacksons autograph but he supposedly molested little kids guilty or not guilty we will never know for sure, but the possibility is there.

Ben roethlisberger accused not once but twice of rape, yet people still want to talk and hang out with the guy.

A few years ago someone posted a saddam huessien autograph and everyone applauded because of the historical value. The guy killed thousands.

I dont judge anyone in prison or not because I believe that will come later. IMO. But the point is anyone can come after you when they get your address. Hell I wrote to angelina jolie, I wish she would come after me. LOL

Do what you want if it interests you go for it. If it isnt your cup of tea dont. Because if you write to people in prison or not someone else has already sent fanmail to them so you will not be the first.
