I think stars like Mr Garner even though they are not very active anymore appreciate knowing US fans have not forgot about him. If he is able to sign he will, at least he replys thats more than you can say about alot of others.

Just spoke to Mr. Garner's daughter via email. Doesn't look like sending him fanmail is a burden. For those thickheaded folks, it doesn't bother him. I understand someone being ill or too old, therefore the option to decline a response. Mr. Garner wrote me back very quickly. I understand it may or may not be him. He is an idol of mine and I don't need any fools to question that. It is one thing to compare an authentic autograph to a fake, but its a whole different story questioning someone's admiration for someone. The goons of this site can really take the FUN out of this site. Seriously...Some of you GROW UP.

Just a thought...If it is still him signing, maybe he still likes getting the fan mail. It's a way to keep that part of his life remaining strong. Maybe it would be worse for him if no one wrote to him. How do you think that would make him feel?

If he didn't want to sign he wouldn't. If he culdn't sign anymore he may have someone else do it. Either way he cares about his fans enough to send them back something. To me, this would mean he likes getting fan mail.

Congrats on the OP's success. I got 3 autos back from James Garner several years ago. They match yours, excepts yours is a bit shakier. I did send him a picture to sign the other day (already signed by Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling). I understand if I don't get it back, but if I do get it back, I fully believe he enjoys the letters he gets from fans.

What a telented man and legend. Also, he is so great to his fans!!!
