i agree with that as sometimes in the forum when some is excited they want to put them down by saying its fake which i dont think is fair to that person especially within a few minutes of posting

i had a lea michele success and was told it was fake cos i wouldnt give out the email address, i think some people need to be more respectful to the person who had the success as they may not wish to know its fake or sec.

Then with all due respect, they're idiots. There's a difference between jealous posters telling you something is fake because you won't give the address, and posters believing fakes are real. Also, it's not about putting people down, it's about sharing experience... what's the point in having a forum full of "check this fake signature I got, but I am pretending it's real"... how does that help?

Again, James politely pointed out to two posters the doubts over these items, one took it well, the other went off in a tizz because they didn't want to believe it. Ultimately, if you don't want to have doubts cast on your successes, keep them to yourself, don't post them on the internet and continue in your own little fantasy world.

Hi

Sorry I have not posted much lately, few replies.

But I am looking at writing to Mo Farah and have read all the posts here.

Sadly over the years here, and I am sure everywhere there are always debates about real or fake.

But what I find annoying is members here posting, then complaining when they find their photo is a fake.

A Fake is a FAKE and is a waste of paper !!

A waste of our time writing to people if they do not even see your letter.

Members are not here just to post that a photo is fake, there are here to help, advice, and support this great hobby.

I have been collecting for thirty years, and know 90% of mine are authentic but even I cannot be sure on some.

Here the more established members and collectors will inform younger members the truth, the real genuine celebrities who are grateful to their fans.

Not the celebs who think they are too big to sign ! (like John Travolta , Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood and many more)

If you do not want feed back, mention this in your post!

Many posts here members say "Is this photo I hade Authentic"

Members are not here to take away your enjoyment of a success, we all know that feeling, we are here to be as honest as we can and work together.

Some celebs I am not even sure myself, Doris Day for instance, she used to sign 20 years ago, still signing now I am not sure?

Please let's not be rude to each other, why we don't gain anything, let's help each other.

No one likes getting fakes, mine go in the bin, especially if from Studio Mail rubbish (all autopen).

kind regards

Sean

As an athletics autograph expert, I've only ever said something to be fake twice; this post and the other Mo Farah success. I really don't get the big deal, and I certainly don't get why people think I'm in the wrong to point out a fake.

But I receive a reply like this:
Sadly it costs too much to send an autograph out to China. If you would like an autograph please send a stamped address envelope with the correct stamps to go back to China and Ill get this to you.

Honestly? I would wait, now is not the time to try and get Mo TTM, once the hype around London2012 has died down I would give it a go then.

Indeed, I've already consigned myself to the fact that my Mo sig will not be authentic.

I'm going to fire a letter off to his Oregon training base before the start of next years Athletics season.
If that fails maybe a second email in the first half of 2013.

and if that fails... I'm going to wait in the bushes outside his house.

Careful, someone's already tried that (no joke)!
