Yep, I'm very impressed by your keen insight. Although you haven't a shred of evidence or proof to the contrary, and although none of us has so much as laid eyes on the actual documents, you've totally persuaded me that Depp's authentic signature couldn't possibly appear on either of the photos the lad sent.

Say, why do you suppose Paul McCartney doesn't own an autopen? McCartney's is possibly the most sought-after signature on the planet. You'd think that if anyone would own an autopen, it would be Paul McCartney. Why doesn't he? Too cheap? Can't afford one? Dazzle us with your insight.

Paul McCartney doesn't use an autopen as you either get back a letter saying he only signs for charities he supports or you get a pre-print. He doesn't want people thinking they have a genuine autograph when they haven't.

You don't always need to see someone's success to know it isn't a success.

Yeah, and in other news, the Apollo 11 mission was faked, the International Space Station is actually located in a TV studio outside Tuscon, and the world is flat.

Kid, congratulations on getting Johnny Depp's autograph. My nephew met him--via venue, by the way, in Aurora, Illinois--and I understand he's polite, courteous, encouraging, extremely patient with people, and just generally everything you wish all celebrities would be like. My nephew sent me some photos of the encounter, and plainly Depp was having the time of his life, interacting with his fans.
